Localgiving
A Free 3 month trial to raise additional funds.

The future of many VCOs is threatened by the difficulty economic environment which increases demands for their services but reduces funding availability.
Imminent cuts in public spending are likely to exacerbate an already difficult financial climate for community and voluntary groups.
In addition the growth in online giving (currently expanding at 50% a year) is also a threat to VCO’s many of whom are not able to accept online donations and have no electronic presence.

Online giving currently favours large charities who already receive a huge proportion of online donations and who have the resources to optimise web opportunities.

Localgiving.com offers local VCOs a web page, online donation capability and automatic processing of Gift Aid which together give groups the ability to raise both awareness and funds while providing them with the tools to gain exposure and be more effective and self sustainable.

The Localgiving.com package enables participating groups to access;

Ø  Their own web page on the Localgiving.com website to attract donations and raise awareness online

Ø  An online donation mechanism

Ø  Automated Gift Aid processing

Ø  Extensive search facilities to enable donor’s to find them

Ø  Sophisticated communications tools to communicate with supporters and donors

Ø  The ability easily to update their website at any time

Ø  Improved search results on Google and other search engines

A unique feature of Localgiving.com is that every VCO that is invited to take part will have been vetted by their local community foundation and will receive a personal invitation to take advantage of this exciting new development.

Information gained from the pilot stage of Localgiving.com is that a response rate of about 10% can be expected where the only approach made is in writing from the local Community Foundation.

Groups that do sign up are able to make full use of the Localgiving.com package and should see an improvement in their fundraising income and profile.

There is an initial 3 months FREE trial after this time there is a sunscription charge of £60 per year. groups would need to assess if they were raising sufficient money to cover this charge.
