Hate Crime Awareness Funding
The London Borough of Sutton in partnership with the Safer Sutton Partnership and Community Action Sutton are offering funding to local organisations and groups to run one-off activities or events to raise awareness of hate crime.
A maximum grant of £1,000 for each application is available and the total maximum grant amount is £5,000.
The proposed activity/event will need to meet one or more of the objectives below;
- Raise the awareness and understanding of hate crime by engaging with minority communities who may be more likely to be a victim of hate crime.
- Promote Community Cohesion and integration within Sutton to reduce prejudice that may result in any of the 5 strands of hate crime or incidents. 1. Disability, 2. Gender Identity, 3. Race, Ethnicity or Nationality, 4. Religion, Faith or Belief, and 5. Sexual Orientation
- Encouraging more people to report hate crime and incidents to the Police or to any third-party reporting provisions.
The delivery of the activity or event will have to complete by the 31st March 2020.
Money will be allocated on a first come first served basis – once the funds have gone they’ve gone!
